Phillips Studio & Gallery shows the professional artist DeNae Weimer from Montana in her exhibition entitled “Call of the Wild” until October 30th.
Meet the artist at the First Friday reception on October 1st from 5pm to 7pm
Weimer is an award-winning artist and local art teacher who lives and works in Kalispell. She takes inspiration from the local natural beauty and her passion for the area and Glacier National Park is growing every day. She has an attachment to the landscape and an appreciation for its mountains, animals and flowers. She has matured into a strong, sensitive painter for watercolor portraits and landscapes in realistic style. The exhibition shows a selection of her paintings in watercolor and oil.
Weimer describes life as an extraordinary journey. She and her young family began exploring the splendor of the Rocky Mountains, packing horses into the Bob Marshall Wilderness, and climbing the peaks in Glacier National Park. She began to paint the mountains and mountain wildflowers. She chooses colors that show how she feels about the scene and shows her emotional response to it through her images.
Weimer began operating the Mark Ogle Studio upon arriving in Montana. During a decade of art sales, she was fortunate enough to meet some wonderful artists who accompanied her and criticized many of her works. Her work has been exhibited numerous times and has participated in Plein Air Invitational painting events with the Hockaday Museum of Art in Kalispell. Her pictures are now in collections all over the world.
