Minecraft already has its own Ender Dragon boss, but there are some players who are happier creating their own winged beast in the game.
For many, Minecraft is more than just an open world game where players survive each night, dig for diamonds and build shelters. Some fans see the world as one giant canvas to play and create on. As a video game with near-infinite replay value, there are endless opportunities for players to drop in and use the sprawling landscape and tool list to build some incredible structures. Sometimes these structures are so impressive that they don’t look like they were made with 1×1 blocks.
In a recent post on the Minecraft subreddit, user Roman_95 uploaded a series of images showing a very detailed and gigantic dragon perched over a mountainous region. While at first glance it looks like some kind of rendering or maybe even a painting, the viewer quickly realizes that what they are actually seeing is something built into the low-res block game. The attention to detail is nothing short of incredible, and other users express their utter amazement at what Roman_95 has created.
During Minecraft has its own Ender Dragon for players to battle with, it pales in comparison to the sheer size of Roman_95’s own winged beast. It took the user two months to finish and even though they used MCEdit, a tool for editing saved worlds, the end result is still great. A few additional images show the dragon from different angles, emphasizing its size and the level of detail that mixed colors have been added to its skin. One user even jokingly said he had to check what subreddit he was on because it didn’t immediately look like one Minecraft Construction.
It seems that many players are interested in making huge builds Minecraftto do everything from entire cities breath of the wild‘s Hyrule Kingdom and even a replica of Cyberpunk 2077. What Roman_95 created is another example of this, but it’s the detail and skill that went into it that makes it a work of art.
With more than 200 million units sold, Mojang’s sandbox title is one of the highest-grossing video games of the last decade, if not all time. Even after more than ten years, the game still attracts many creative and talented people. And as users continue to showcase their incredible projects, it seems clear that there is still so much left Minecraft to see and do.
Minecraft is now available for PC, PS4, Switch and Xbox One.
