A newly paved and cleared road in Hollister causes confusion for drivers and community members. The lanes along Ladd Lane were misdrawn. “I saw it later that afternoon on my way home from work and I thought, woah, that’s the weirdest thing I’ve ever seen,” said Hollister Mayor Ignacio Velazquez. The town has been redesigned Ladd Lane to add a bike lane and circles on the road. Their goal was to add these slow-moving traffic obstacles and prevent people from using the road as a drag racing track – jagged and not straight.” Basically, it just comes down to the contractor. Someone didn’t read the plans properly,” Velazquez said. “It shouldn’t look very strange.” Contractors will begin repairing the lanes on Monday at no additional cost to taxpayers.

The lanes along Ladd Lane were drawn incorrectly.

“I saw it later that afternoon on my way home from work and I was like, woah, that’s the weirdest thing I’ve ever seen,” said Hollister Mayor Ignacio Velazquez.

The City has redesigned Ladd Lane to add a cycle lane and central circles on the street. Their goal was to add these obstacles to slow-moving traffic and prevent people from using the road as a drag racing track.

The tracks should be slightly curved, but they ended up looking zigzag and not straight.
