A new art exhibition of poetry broadsides will be on display at the Sunrise Galleries, 114 E 2nd Street, in downtown Muscatine.
The new art exhibition is an exhibition of Poetry Broadsides, winner (mostly) of the James Hearst Poetry Prize, interpreted by artist and printer Julie Russell-Steuart. Broadside letterpress work was done by Caveworks Press & the North American Review. Julie Russell-Steuart’s work will be on display through February 6th. She will be at the Sunrise Galleries on the closing weekend of her exhibition for a poetry reading on Friday 4 February at 7pm and Saturday 5 February from 12pm to 4pm.
Julie Russell-Steuart received a FY2022 grant from the Iowa Arts Council and the National Endowment for the Arts for her project Power of the Press IOWA. Her February 5 poster printing workshop and talk will teach attendees how to use the power of the press to champion their own important ideas and causes.
