Crossing Arts in Brainerd, Minnesota is hosting a Needle Felt Painting Workshop hosted by artist Lisa Jordan on Saturday, January 29 from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm.
What is needle felt painting?
Needle felting is the art and craft of turning wool into an object using a needle. Using wool in its rawer forms and special felting needles, you poke the wool repeatedly to form the shapes and patterns you want.
About the Class: Using a special needle and yarn, students will learn to needle felt a highly textured, 5″ x 7″ three-dimensional “painting” of a spring nest full of eggs. Students are provided with all the wool and materials they need to complete their painting and keep their mats, needles, and leftover materials after class. We will discuss techniques for creating textures, mixing colors, and creating shapes. This course costs $55. Limited to 6 students. Each participant must be at least 12 years old. Masks are compulsory! This course takes place at Crossing Arts in downtown Brainerd. Crossing Arts members receive a $10 gift card as a membership benefit when they attend the class. If you would like to participate, please register in advance to reserve your place. Pre-register here
