New end-of-year exhibition at Windermere Fine Art Gallery

Windermere Fine Art Gallery launched a new exhibition at the end of the year featuring works by some of Britain’s finest artists.

These include the latest winners of the prestigious Royal Institute of Oil Painters’ acclaimed annual exhibition, one of the highest honors in British art.

Artists – now on view at Windermere Fine Art Gallery – from the illustrious Northern Boys painting group exhibiting at the Royal Institute of Oil Painters annual exhibition in the Mall Galleries in London were:

Haidee-Jo Summers ROI, RSMA; Rob Pointon ROI, MAFA; Andrew Farmer ROI; Michael Ashcroft ROI, MAFA; Adam Ralston MAFA; Steven P. Smith MAFA and Max White. (ROI shows membership in the Royal Institute of Oil Painters, with RSMA indicating the Royal Society of Marine Artists and MAFA indicating the Manchester Academy of Fine Arts, which dates back to 1859 and includes LS Lowry among its former members).

The winners from this group include:

  • Max White – ROI Emerging Artist Prize winner and third prize at the coveted Winsor & Newton Young Artist Award
  • Rob Pointon – Artist Magazine Award Winner
  • Adam Ralston – Frank Herring Easel Award winner. He has just been named an Associate Member of the Royal Institute of Oil Painters (AROI).

The gallery also exhibits work by ROI member Amanda Coleman, who won the ROI’s Alan Gourley Memorial Award this year.

“We are excited to bring the award-winning work of all these nationally recognized artists to the Windermere Fine Art Gallery for a special end-of-year exhibition that will run for the entire holiday season,” said owner Matthew Titherington.

He and his wife Dawn took over the gallery earlier this year to attract more art buyers and London-based collectors to the Lake District for weekends and short breaks.

The new show closes a milestone year for the new gallery owners and builds on the success of the summer and autumn exhibitions, which showcase works by leading national artists such as Haidee-Jo Summers.
