Penticton Arts Council online auction set to send 2 students to school – Penticton Western News

The Penticton Arts Council is on a two-week mission to raise money for a trio of community initiatives, one of which aims to send two high school students to a post-secondary arts program.

An online fundraiser auction was launched by the group on May 18th and is scheduled to end at 7pm on June 3rd

With offers such as wine tour tickets and a chartered boat trip for eight people available for bidding, the council has set its fundraising goal at $5,000.

All funds raised during the auction will be returned directly to the community, including $2,000 towards the Arts Matter Scholarship, a program that sends select students from Penticton Secondary and Princess Margaret High School to arts colleges.

The remaining $3,000 will go to charitable partners such as the South Okanagan Women in Need Society and the Brain Injury Society, as well as to support the distribution of arts care packages to children and seniors throughout Penticton.

As of Thursday morning, May 19, the council has raised over $1,800 for the fundraiser.
