Photographers are mobilizing to sell prints in aid of Ukraine – here’s our running list of what to buy and where


In the days since Russia invaded Ukraine, individuals and organizations have stepped up to raise awareness and provide much-needed funds to help the two million refugees fleeing the violence. In the art world, auction houses and galleries have announced fundraisers, while institutions are distancing themselves from Russian oligarchs.

A slew of print fundraisers are popping up online, aimed at raising money and reminding people of the beauty of a country now beset by violence. Below is our ongoing list of print fundraisers.

WHO: Do you have a butcher and Hempstead May and May Print are sponsoring a £50 ($66.50) charity sale of photographs by artists including Alec Soth, Jamie Hawkesworth and Jack Davidson. Prints are unsigned and printed on 10″ x 8″ fine art archival paper, proceeds go to the British Red Cross Crisis Appeal in Ukraine.

When: Until Friday, March 11, 2022

WHO: Fast forward: women in the photobased at the University for the Creative Arts in Great Britain a group of women photographers from Ukraine selling limited edition prints to raise funds for charities. The minimum donation for each print is £50 ($65.50) and bidders are instructed to contact the organizers via direct message on Instagram. With works by: Oksana Demianec @oxandem; Daria Kuzmina @_marilyn_marlene; Maria Kaswan @mariakazvan; Daria Bedernichek @Polyn911; Nalina Vain, and other.

When: Until Saturday 12 March 2022

WHO: Art4Ukraine supported by The print area, a London-based carbon neutral photo and art print company. The project aims to raise money to support refugees from Ukraine who are being displaced and in need of food, shelter and medical assistance. Each A4 archival photo print is available for £100 ($131) including worldwide shipping and profits shared Choose love and war child.

When: Until Wednesday, March 16, 2022 at 10 p.m

WHO: new workshop, A Munich-based community and non-profit multipurpose project space is partnering with publishing house JETZT to bring out a limited edition prints to help those affected by the war in Ukraine. All proceeds (purchased via PayPal) are split between charities children’s voices; Vostok SOS, an organization that helps victims of military aggression; and humanitarian aid service Libereco. Each print is available for €50 ($55).

When: Until Thursday 31 March 2022

WHO: your cliquethe curated art platform founded by Izabela Depczyk, former CEO of Paddle8, is hosting Artists for Ukraine, a sale featuring works by artists such as Cindy Sherman, Laurie Simmons, Marilyn Minter, Austyn Weiner and Katherine Bradford, with 100 percent of the proceeds the children’s voices Foundation, endowment.

When: From March 10, 2022

WHO: UK-based Darwin Magazine and Metro Imaging present Photos for Ukrainea print sale benefiting the non-profit organization War child Britain.

Six photographs by artists Ruth Baldry, Karabo Mooki, Hao Nguyen, Eva Watkins, Sara Meinz, Alex Ingram, and Allie and Jen are available in a limited edition (20 prints per image), each printed at 8″ x 10″. Inch archival paper priced at £50 ($56.50).
