San Dieguito Art Guild hosts 10th annual Christmas bazaar

The San Dieguito Art Guild is hosting its 10th Annual Holiday Bazaar on Saturday, December 4th, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Encinitas Community Center, 1140 Oakcrest Park Drive (corner of Encinitas Blvd and Balour), Encinitas.

The San Dieguito Art Guild is a 200-strong volunteer non-profit organization that operates the Off Track Gallery at Lumberyard Shopping Center in Encinitas.

Led by a board of 15 elected directors, the SDAG was organized in 1965 by a group of artists with the aim of promoting a better understanding and appreciation of the visual arts.

Karen Fidel, one of the organizers of the event, said, “This event provides a place for local artists to display their handcrafted items to the public. And gives buyers the opportunity to purchase unique works of art that cannot be found in the malls. There are no imported items in this bazaar. In addition, the buyer buys directly from the artist and can get to know him personally. “

Guild President Judianne Shannon says, “Even if you’ve been to our Christmas bazaar in the past, there are new artists and new items to see. We try to have a balanced media mix so that you can find photographers, watercolors, oil or acrylic painters and multimedia artists. “

There will be a silent auction of artwork donated by the participating artists. Cheryl DeLain, jewelry artist, says, “Our artwork is special because it is from all local artists and often from local scenes. Our bazaar has really special offers for silent auction items, the proceeds of which support our Off Track Gallery. “

Come and enjoy delicious treats, silent auctions, and art for sale by artists: paintings, jewelry, photography, glass, ceramics, mosaics, fiber art, cards, prints, and more.

Admission to the bazaar and sufficient parking spaces are free. For more information, visit, call 760-942-3636, or contact [email protected]
